Inna arranged a trip to Poland to visit her mother over the Midsummer and I didn't want to just sit at home so I decided to cycle a bit instead. I looked for suitable destinations nearby and found out that there's a small national park in Southwest Finland that I hadn't visited yet. The park wasn't exactly next door though and I had to cycle 147km through rain and wind to get there.

The trip took me through quite beautiful Finnish countryside and would have probably been quite nice had the weather treated me better. I also took a wrong turn at one point, which added an extra nine kilometers to the route. I made it to the national park just before sunset and to my great surprise found a bunch of people celebrating the Midsummer there with a tent sauna! They immediately invited me to the sauna and there was no way I was going to decline such an offer after the long, wet and cold day!

My original plan had been to cycle to the national park and back but after the first day I didn't really feel like cycling the same way back. Instead I cycled in the park for a while and then northwards to the city of Salo where I caught a train back to Espoo. It was a good 50km of cycling in total anyway :).
